Exon 13, an exon in the spectrin repeat region (KalSR), was floxed. Flp-mediated recombination removed the neomycin resistance cassette. Cre-mediated recombination removed exon 13. Western blot analysis confirmed the loss of isoforms Kalirin7, 9 and 12 and deltaKalirin7 in the adult cortex. (J:206512)
