A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 3 and a floxed neo-tk cassette was inserted downstream of exon 4. The neo-tk cassette was removed by transient expression of cre recombinase in correctly targeted ES cells. Exons 3 and 4 were further removed by crossing with cre mice. (J:82759)
