A cassette containing a floxed lacZ gene followed by an Hist2h2be-driven EGFP and an frt-flanked neo gene was inserted 6 bp upstream of the endogenous translation initiation codon. The neo cassette was removed by germ line, flp-mediated recombination. Cre-mediated recombination removed the lacZ gene. (J:137459, J:196480)
