An FRT flanked PGK-neo cassette followed by a loxP site was inserted in intron 3 while an additional loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 3. The selection cassette was subsequently excised from properly targeted mice by flp recombinase expression. Exon 3 is thus left flanked by loxP sites. (J:199440)
