A targeting vector containing a FRT site flanked PGK-NEO cassette and a loxP site was inserted into exon 6 of the targeted gene, and another loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 2. Flp-mediated recombination removed the neomycin resistance cassette and left exons 2 through 5 and a portion of exon 6 floxed. (J:203336)
