A loxP site followed by an FRT flanked neomycin resistance cassette was inserted 5' of the second coding exon and a second loxP site was inserted downstream of this exon. Flp recombinase expression in properly targeted mice excised the selection cassette leaving the second coding exon flanked by loxP sites. (J:197393)
