A targeting vector composed of the cre/ERT2 sequence and a neo cassette was used to replace exon 1 of the Cadm4 (Necl-4) gene by homologous recombination in ES cells. Two clones were selected for injection to produce chimeras. Germline mutant mice were produced from both clones and these exhibited identical homozygous phenotypes. (J:202123)
