The targeted construct replaced the coding sequence in exon 1 through exon 4 with a lox71 site, lacZ reporter gene, polyadenylation sequence, FRT site, neomycin resistance cassette, FRT site, loxP site and polyadenylation sequence. Q-PCR confirmed the absence of transcript expression in E7.5 embryos. (J:199855)
