An FRT and loxP flanked neomycin resistance cassette was inserted upstream of exon 7. An additional loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 8. Cre-mediated recombination removed the neomycin resistance cassette, exon 7 and exon 8. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein in mouse embronic fibroblasts. (J:200251)
