The catalytic domain of Mmp19 (1088 bp region spanning the end of exon 3 and whole of exon 4) was replaced with a neoR cassette oriented in the opposite direction to the endogenous Mmp19. Immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry confirmed absence of MMP19 protein in cell lysates and in skin, respectively. (J:137128)
