A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 4. An FRT-flanked neomycin resistance (neo) cassette with a 3' loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 5. Cre-mediated recombination removed exon 4, exon 5 and the neo cassette. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in the liver, lung and brain. (J:195919)
