The portion coding the C-terminal 11 amino acids was replaced by a cDNA encoding the long form-specific C-terminal amino acid (exons 7 through 11) followed by a polyadenylation sequence and a neomycin resistance cassette. Northern blot analysis confirmed transcript expression of the long isoform and not the short isoform. (J:198336)
