A human PAC (PAC671D9) containing only the MECP2 locus and regulatory elements was modified to replace amino acids 270-486 with MECP2 sequence encoding amino acids 270-272, a 6 amino acid poly-serine linker and a C-terminal GFP tag. Two lines were generated. Expression of the transgene faithfully reproduces the distribution, abundance, and subnuclear localization of MECP2 in the brain. (J:194039)
