A loxP site was inserted 5' of exon 2 and an Frt-Neo-Frt-loxP cassette was placed 3' of the same exon. The selection cassette was subsequently removed by crossing with mice expressing flp recombinase. Germline cre expression excised exon 2 and created a frame shift mutation. (J:194748)
