A mutation was introduced into exon 6 which changed the first glycine of the GYG signature pore sequence to serine (G278S) and a floxed neo resistance cassette was inserted in intron 5. Subsequent cre expression excised the resistance cassette in properly targeted ES cells. (J:195336)
