These transgenic mice express a fusion protein of mouse histone cluster 1, H2bc ("histone H2b") and Enhanced Green Fluorescent Protein under the control of the chicken beta-actin promoter. The fusion protein is incorporated into DNA; therefore, chromatin fluoresces during all phases of mitosis. (J:263653)
