A 9.5 kb construct encoding SFTPC-cre/ERT2 (human surfactant associated protein C gene driving cre fused to a mutated estrogen receptor sequence; ERT2) was microinjected into mouse embryos to generated transgenic mice. Five founders were generated, but cre/ERT2 protein was stably expressed after tamoxifen injection by the progeny of only 2 lines, F42 and F67. These two lines were propagated for further experiments. Line F42 was entered as a representative line. (J:192111)
