This transgene consists of 2 co-injected constructs. The first construct contains the rat insulin promoter followed by an SV40 T antigen in which the two exons are interrupted by an FRT flanked beta-globin intron. The second construct contains he rat insulin promoter followed by a flpe gene. Recombination and expression of the transgene is seen in the pancreas. Absence of recombination in the liver and spleen was confirmed by PCR analysis. (J:187012)
