Flp-mediated recombination of Gjb2tm3(Gjb1)Kwi removed the neo cassette. Further cre-mediated recombination is required to remove the floxed lacZ and allow expression of the inserted coding sequence. Western blot analysis confirmed reduced protein expression in the placenta but not skin. (J:188626)
