A construct containing a cassette encoding a codon optimized cre, IRES and nuclear localized lacZ and an FRT flanked neo cassette was inserted into the first coding exon via homologous recombination. At E7.5, E9.5, E10.5 and in postnatal mice, lacZ activity mirrors endogenous gene expression. (J:187742)
