A single loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 1 and a floxed neomycin resistance cassette was inserted in intron 1. Cre-mediated recombination removed the neo cassette and exon 1. Northern blot analysis confirmed the absence of transcript expression. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in the cerebellum. (J:201190)
