LoxP sites were inserted in intron 6 and in intron 8. Subsequent cre expression excised exons 7 and 8 and caused a frame shift in exon 9 resulting in multiple stop codons. PCR analysis of reverse transcribed RNA confirmed the absence of transcription. (J:187348)
