A YAC containing a full-length human huntingtin gene under the control of the endogenous human HDH promoter was modified with a 128 CAG repeat expansion. The resulting construct (YAC128) was used to generate transgenic mice. Founder line 55 integrated the fewer copies of the transgene and had lower levels of protein expression compared to line 53.
