Exons 7 - 12 were replaced with a lacZ gene with a nuclear localization signal and a self-excising neo cassette via homologous recombination. Western blot and immunoprecipitation analyses confirmed the absence of protein expression in cortical lysates from homozygous mice. LacZ expression is seen in the nervous system. (J:185948)
