A floxed neo cassette was inserted upstream of exon 6 and a loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 6 via homologous recombination. Cre mediated recombination removed the neo cassette and exon 6. The mutant allele produces a stable transcript and a protein product that is 7 kDa smaller than the wild-type protein. (J:183998)
