Exon 2 was replaced with a floxed PGK-neomycin selection cassette. The selection cassette was removed from properly targeted mice by cr excision. Removal of exon 2 causes a downstream frame shift and only short, non-functional, N-terminal peptides ar produced. (J:184737)
