A loxP-flanked neomycin resistance cassette (neo) was inserted 3' of the coding sequence of Hoxb3 and was subsequently deleted by transient Cre recombinase mediated recombination in the targeted ES cells, leaving a single loxP site downstream of Hoxb3. Presence of the loxP site does not affect expression of the gene. (J:83563)
