A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 1. An FRT- and loxP-flanked neo cassette was inserted downstream of exon 1. Cre-mediated recombination removed the neo cassette. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein expression in the hippocampus. (J:181614)
