A loxP site was inserted into exon 1. An additional loxP site and a lacZ with a nuclear localization sequence was inserted downstream of exon 5. Cre-mediated recombination removed the coding sequence. RT-PCR confirmed the absence of transcript expression in the hypothalamus. (J:181650)
