This transgene was generated by coinjection of cosmid inserts of ~24 and ~22 kb, respectively, containing the complete human major histocompatibility (MHC) class II gene alleles HLA-DRA*0101 and HLA-DRB1*0101, each with several kilobases of flanking sequence. The resulting transgenic mice express human serotype HLA-DR1. (J:181600)
