A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 4 and a floxed neo cassette was inserted downstream of exon 5 via homologous recombination. Cre mediated recombination removed exons 4 and 5 and the neo cassette. Western blot analysis confirmed the absence of protein in the liver, lung, blood, and intestine of homozygous mice. (J:179279)
