Tac2^{tm1.1(cre)Qima}

The cre coding sequence with a poly adenylation signal was inserted in-frame with the first ATG of the Tac2 gene by homologous recombination. The initial targeting vector contained an Frt-flanked neomycin cassette. Germline-transmitting mice were crossed with a Flp deleter strain to excise the neo cassette. Insertion of the cre cassette results in generation of a null allele of Tac2 demonstrated by absence of Tac2 expression in the dorsal spinal cord as detected by in situ hybridization. (J:180805)
