Exon 4, the first coding exon, was replaced with the a cDNA encoding for rat Grin2a and a loxP site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette via homologous recombination. Cre mediated recombination removed the neo cassette. Western blot analysis indicates premature expression of Grin2a and absence of expression of Grin2b in homozygous mice. (J:178913)
