A 240 kb deletion was induced by cre mediated recombination between Is(2)46Ddu and Tg(Hoxd9/lacZ/neo)3Ddu . This region includes the global control region (GCR) and Prox enhancer region that modify expression of the Hoxd genes in the digits. At E12.5 mRNA expression of Hoxd13 was reduced to 60% of wild-type in the developing autopod. Expression of Evx2, Hoxd12, and Hoxd11 was also affected. (J:178930)
