A LoxP and FRT ste flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette replaced the Distal Multipotent Mesodermal Enhancer (DMME), located 27 kb upstream of the TSS of the Kdr gene, via homologous recombination. Cre-mediated recombination removed the neo cassette. Quantitative RT-PCR and immunohistochemical analyses indicate that expression is reduced at E7.5 in homozygous embryos. (J:178675)
