Eomes^{tm3.1(cre)Rob}

A targeting vector introduced the coding sequence for cre recombinase, followed by a loxP-flanked neomycin selection cassette was introduced into the exon 1 start site of the Eomes gene, resulting in deletion of about 500 base pairs of the 5' coding region. Targeting was done in CCE ES cells. Correctly targeted ES cells were transiently transfected with a plasmed encoding cre to remove the neomycing cassette. The resulting cells were used to generate germline chimeras. Cre mRNA expression recapitulated endogenous Eomes expression. (J:176969)
