Transgenic mice were generated using a construct in which a cre recombinase-IRES-EGFP cassette was cloned downstream of the Tpbpa promoter. Three independent lines were obtained and all lines produced similar temporal and spatial expression patterns of cre-EGFP that correlated with those of the endogenous Tpbpa gene. Line 5 was used for further studies as it showed earliest onset of expression (around E8.0). Activity of cre recombinase in reporter assays also was detected by E8.0. (J:122534)
