An FRT-flanked neo cassette with a 5' loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 3. Exon 4 was replaced with a modified exon 4 that contains nucleotide substitutions (AAC to GCC) that result in the amino acid substitution of alanine for asparagine at position 151 (N151A). An additional loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 7. Flp-mediated recombination removed the neo cassette. (J:174772)
