The mouse bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) RP23-408F13 containing Slc6a3, solute carrier family 6 (neurotransmitter transporter, dopamine), member 3, gene, was modified by insertion of sequence encoding iCreER at the Slc6a3 translation initiation ATG, and addition of a Kozak sequence upstream of the ATG. This BAC also contains the following genes: Clptm1l (CLPTM1-like), Tert (telomerase reverse transcriptase), and Slc6a18 (solute carrier family 6 (neurotransmitter transporter), member 18). The modified BAC was used to generate the DAT-iCreER transgene, which was microinjected into C57BL/6NTac fertilized eggs. Founder line 2 was subsequently established. (J:173676)
