One loxP site was inserted just upstrean of exon 2 and a floxed neomycin selection cassette in reverse orientation was inserted in intron 4. The floxed selection cassette was subsequently subjected to cre mediated excision leaving exons 2-4 which encode the first RNA binding domain flanked by loxP sites. Normal levels of unmodified protein are expressed. (J:171493)
