A loxP site was inserted upstream of the 525 bp Shh brain enhancer 1 (SBE1) in intron 2. In addition, an FRT site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette and a second loxP site were inserted immediately downstream of SBE1. Subsequent cre expression excised both SBE1 and the neo cassette. (J:170540)
