A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 2. A neo cassette and 3' loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 2. Cre-mediated recombination removed exon 2 and the neo cassette. The absence of protein expression was confirmed by western blot analysis on intestinal extracts. (J:170667)
