The genomic region of coding sequence (CDS) extending from exon 1 to exon 2 of the gene was replaced with a LacZ gene and a PGK-Neomycin cassette by targeted homologous recombination. RT-PCR confirmed absence of transcript, and Western blot confirmed absence of protein product in femur. This is a null allele. (J:168665)
