A rabbit beta-globin polyadenylation cassette was inserted into the end of the exon 1A in reverse orientation so that it does not truncate the exon 1A transcript. A loxP flanked neomycin cre cassette was inserted immediately downstream as well. RT-PCR analysis indicated reduced mRNA levels were produced. Northern blot analysis did not detect mRNA. (J:182868)
