A targeting construct was used to introduce loxP sites into intron 2 and intron 6 of Ucp2, as well as an FRT-flanked kanamycin selection cassette. Homologous recombination in W4 ES cells was used to generate the floxed allele. Chimeras were bred to Flp recombinase expressing mice to remove the selection marker cassette. (J:167906)
