Alternative exon 1, including the second alternative promoter P2 upstream of it (Rr145), was replaced with a lacZ-neo cassette via homologous recombination. Real-time PCR analysis showed reduced total transcripts throughout development. However, no reduction in total protein level was detected during development. (J:167738)
