A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 3, and an FRT-flanked neo cassette with a 3' loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 8. Cre-mediated recombination removed exons 3 through 8 and the neo cassette. The absence of protein expression was confirmed by western blot analysis on mouse embryonic fibroblast extracts. (J:166672)
