This transgene contains the unmutated, functionally rearranged immunoglobulin heavy-chain variable region segments, comprising V558(DSP2)J4, from the MRL/MP-Faslpr-derived hybridoma 2-12 joined to the mu constant region (Ighm) exons from BALB/c, which is of the Igha allotype. The encoded IGH chain, in combination with various immunoglobulin light chains, recognizes the nuclear antigen Sm and single stranded, but not double stranded, DNA. (J:3925, J:133722, J:160961)
