The codon-improved cre sequence (icre) containing a nuclear localization signal was fused to the initiation codon of the Zic4 gene located in a BAC. The icre sequence was followed by the simian SV40 polyA signal and an Frt-flanked kanamycin selection cassette. The selection cassette was removed from the construct before injection inot fertilized eggs. Number of founder animals and line numbers are not available. (J:164291)
