Exons 8 through 10 were replaced with a lacZ and neo cassette. The absence of protein expression of both alpha and beta isoforms was confirmed by western blot analysis on heart extracts. Beta-galactosidase staining confirmed expression of the reporter gene in the heart. (J:163968)
